Alex has extensive research background in geology, including geochemistry and sedimentology/stratigraphy. Additional areas of research and expertise include redox chemistry, California geology, mineralogy, petrology, field geology, and resource exploration.

He has experience including field geologic mapping, geologic logging of borings and performing engineering geology analyses. This includes preparation of cross-sections, geologic maps, and field reports and analysis/interpretation of complex geological features. He has conducted extensive field sampling, laboratory analysis, and monitoring wells installation for hydrogeologic investigations.
